We have previously shown in detail why well thought-out IT portfolio management is the decisive factor for a company&#8217;s success.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-bamac-blue-color has-text-color\" id=\"h-it-product-portfolio-management-with-the-bamac-group\">IT product portfolio management with the BAMAC GROUP<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In this article, we show you how we manage your IT product portfolio and introduce you to our special approach, which has already <strong>helped<\/strong> numerous <strong>customers<\/strong> to design and use their <strong>IT<\/strong> <strong>systems <\/strong>even<strong> more efficiently<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading has-bamac-blue-color has-text-color\" id=\"h-procedure\">Procedure<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When assessing an IT product portfolio, the BAMAC GROUP proceeds in <strong>three steps<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Firstly, the existing IT product portfolio is <strong>analyzed<\/strong> according to defined criteria.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Secondly, potential <strong>optimizations<\/strong> and the necessary activities in the areas of content, costs and risks are identified.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Thirdly, the previously identified <strong>measures<\/strong> are <strong>implemented<\/strong>, prioritized according to their economic importance.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We follow the<strong> best practice<\/strong> principle and establish proven analysis criteria in order to obtain precisely the results that provide our customers with an extended and more sound basis for decision-making. The <strong>aim<\/strong> is always to<strong> simplify<\/strong> our customers&#8217; business processes and at the same time make them<strong> more effective<\/strong>. This approach enables our clients to achieve the highest possible <strong>increase in value<\/strong> for their company.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading has-bamac-blue-color has-text-color\" id=\"h-the-analysis-criteria\">The analysis criteria<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Asking the right questions is crucial to success. We assign these to <strong>the three<\/strong> <strong>fields of<\/strong> content, costs and risks. Here are a few examples:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"1\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Content<\/strong>: Which functions\/processes are supported by the IT product? Which functions\/processes are used by customers?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Costs<\/strong>: What costs are incurred for development or customizing (change) and maintenance (run)? How productive are these products?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Risks<\/strong>: What happens if the product is not available? How does the failure affect other systems?<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading has-bamac-blue-color has-text-color\" id=\"h-identify-optimization-potential\">Identify optimization potential<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The second step is to determine the potential <strong>optimizations<\/strong> and the <strong>activities<\/strong> required for this in the fields already mentioned (content, costs and risks). The following questions are asked in order to work out these optimizations:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"1\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Content<\/strong>: To what extent can further process steps or functions be automated? Which functions or process steps are provided multiple times in the products?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Costs<\/strong>: What cost optimizations can be achieved by<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>the reduction of redundant data, <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>the reduction of redundant functions and processes,  <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>the increase in development productivity, <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>the standardization of functions (reduction of arabesques), <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>the combination of service functions (e.g. service-oriented architecture) <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"> reachable? <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"3\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Risks<\/strong>: What is the criticality of individual products? How can failure risks of critical products be reduced?<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Specific measures<\/strong> for implementation are then proposed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading has-bamac-blue-color has-text-color\" id=\"h-the-implementation\">The implementation<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If desired, the BAMAC GROUP not only proposes measures <strong>to improve the performance<\/strong> and <strong>efficiency<\/strong> of the IT product portfolio, but also <strong>implements<\/strong> them <strong>together<\/strong> with the customer.
